First Dance Production

The first dance at your forthcoming wedding is a momentous occasion and your BlackTieDJ will make it a truly memorable moment.

As standard for your first dance;

Our intelligent lighting is set to your theme colour (or other colour you’ve chosen from your wedding palette) to enhance the moment and create a stunning backdrop for this moment. Your BlackTieDJ will have gathered your family and friends around the dancefloor with their cameras at the ready giving you enthusiastic encouragement as we present you to the dancefloor as the first few bars of your chosen song begin to play;

If you’re outgoing – you may surprise your guests with a choreographed dance routine perhaps involving your Bridesmaids and Groomsmen.

If you’re confident – you may dance to your entire chosen song on your own to un-rehearsed steps

If you’re shy – at an agreed point your parents,all your family and friends are asked to join you on the dancefloor.

Your first dance is presented only when you’re happy to perform it. Having discussed the moment with you photographer they will have access to the shots they need. During your first dance we step out of our star-cloth booths because this moment is all about you.

If you’re planning to have a second Father of the Bride or parents dance why not consider using the song that was their first dance? We’ll announce this in a way that captures the poignancy of the moment.

Your First Dance will be impeccably presented ensuring it becomes another moment to cherish as your day moves from the formal elements of the day into your party.

Additional First Dance Production

First Dance Edit

If required we can professionally edit your chosen song (in advance) so it’s exactly the right length for you. We can look to reduce the instrumental introduction, remove any unwanted passages from the song or even make the song longer if required. We also ensure you get to hear your edited song in advance of your Wedding day to ensure it’s perfect for you.

Receiving Arch

For the ultimate build-up to your first dance we can arrange your guests into a receiving arch and formally introduce the happy couple into the room to lots of cheering. Making your way through the arch directly onto the dancefloor we begin to present your first dance

Let Them Eat Cake

It’s becoming traditional that the formal cake cutting is conducted immediately before the first dance, ensuring your evening guests are present. Your BlackTieDJ will introduce the moment ensuring that your official photographer is in place. We gather your camera clutching friend and relatives to witness the moment. Whilst we lead the guests back towards the dancefloor we give you a few moments as we move straight into the first dance production.
